An ecommerce services company for car dealers is teaming with the world’s biggest chain retailer to help dealers sell more parts and accessories online.
RevolutionParts, a seven-year-old Phoenix company, is developing a program with Walmart Inc. to help car dealers sell original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts on Walmart’s digital marketplace on Walmart.com. “Allowing our dealership partners to feature their parts on Walmart.com is a significant milestone,” says RevolutionParts CEO Ibrahim Mesbah.
A new page for buyers to purchase OEM parts online is now up on the Walmart marketplace. Features on the page enable buyers to search by major vehicle manufacturer, narrow their search for a new OEM product or accessory by typing in the make and model of vehicle needing a part and viewing available inventory.
Once an online purchase is complete, buyers have the option to buy online and pick up in store or place a drop ship order from a dealer on the Walmart marketplace with the available inventory. This move brings high-quality sellers to our platform to give automotive customers more of what they want,” says Walmart general manager of parts and accessories Brian Rowland.
What RevolutionParts brings to the Walmart marketplace is a base of dealers and manufacturers that sell more than $425 million in OEM parts annually, the company says.
Revolution Parts provides dealers and other wholesalers with ecommerce services to sell on their own website or sell on industry marketplaces such as Walmart.com. “Our customers now have access to millions of direct-fit automotive parts across OEM, Original Equipment Supplier (OES), and aftermarket suppliers—creating a single destination for all their automotive needs,” Rowland says.
For RevolutionParts and its base of dealers and wholesalers selling on Walmart’s digital marketplace provides access to a big new base of online buyers looking for vehicle parts and accessories, Mesbah says. “Walmart.com will gain immediate access to hundreds of thousands of parts that will allow the retailer to immediately establish a strong offering of the booming genuine OEM parts and accessories ecommerce market,” says RevolutionParts.
